Western High students come to rescue in tuxes, gowns

Date with destiny: Prom-bound teens leap from limo, aid crash victims

Cruising along in a white stretch limousine, wearing pricey tuxedos and gowns, 20 seniors from Western High in Davie would have a prom night to remember.

But saving lives and dancing in blood-splattered clothing weren’t among the moments they had expected.

They and their limousine driver are being credited with rescuing five adults and two children trapped in a van that flipped on its side on eastbound Interstate 595 near Hiatus Road on Saturday.
