Testing a Webb Telescope

Several vicious equipment associated to NASA’s next-generation James Webb Space Telescope now are being tested in a thermal opening exam cover during NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md.

This picture shows a Optical Telescope Element Simulator, or OSIM, wrapped in a china sweeping on a platform, being lowered into a Space Environment Simulator opening cover around derrick to be tested to withstand a cold temperatures of space.
