If you could, please pass this email along to anyone you know who golf’s and/or you think would consider sponsoring this Charity event.

We hope that you will be able to participate and help us reach our goals for the children.  Thank you for your support, it will be well appreciate by all.

Broward-Directory Update

Tag: BusinessWebmaster @ 11:37 am

Hello All,

Due to the amount of time it was taking to deal with the rash of childish and non compliant free business listings  -  I decided to stop all the free listings.

There are now three categories of memberships:

  • Basic – $10.00 per year
  • Advanced – $20.00 per year
  • Premium – $30.00 per year

To compare the memberships for the business listings – Broward-Business Memberships

I wish I could continued with the free offer of company listings but this has gotten out of hand.

Thank you for your support.

Cash for Gas Guzzlers – Car Allowance Rebate System

Tag: Environment,Financial,GovernmentWebmaster @ 10:24 am

Cash for Gas Guzzlers - Car Allowance Rebate SystemThe CAR Allowance Rebate System (CARS) is a $1 billion government program that helps consumers buy or lease a more environmentally-friendly vehicle from a participating dealer when they trade in a less fuel-efficient car or truck. The program is designed to energize the economy; boost auto sales and put safer, cleaner and more fuel-efficient vehicles on the nation’s roadways.

  • Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date
  • Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify
  • Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements)
  • Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in
  • You don’t need a voucher, dealers will apply a credit at purchase
  • Program runs through Nov 1, 2009 or when the funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.
  • The program requires the scrapping of your eligible trade-in vehicle, and that the dealer disclose to you an estimate of the scrap value of your trade-in. The scrap value, however minimal, will be in addition to the rebate, and not in place of the rebate.

Visit the website for more details – if you got a gas guzzler – this is a really nice deal.

New Home Improvement Idea – Florida Solar Pool Pumps

Tag: EnvironmentWebmaster @ 10:06 am

secured-panelsjpg-250Solar Pumps have been used for years, but the development of The Solar Panel is progressing to the point that this solution is ready for many homeowners that own swimming pools, ponds or other water features.

It’s all about using electricity to power the movement of water. As electricity becomes more costly in dollars, it also is becomes more costly in pollution.

Did you know that each kWh produced by coal-burning power plants contributes 1.9 pounds of pollutants to our atmosphere!

For Example: A 230 volt – 1.5hp pool pump will use about 640KWH per month – about $83.20 per month. That 640KWH/Month X 1.9lbs = 1216 lbs per month X 12 = 14,592 lbs per year!

This means a single solar pool pump installation can prevent that 14,592 pounds of pollutants from entering our atmosphere each year and run the Solar Pool Pump for FREE!

Solar Pool Pumps are quiet, cool, efficient and long-lasting. These D/C pumps bring solar power to your pool allowing it to run pollution free while reducing your monthly electric bill.

Other benefits include:

  1. Completely eliminates the 2nd highest energy usage on your electric bill
  2. A 30% Federal Tax Credit Off the Purchase & Installation
  3. Florida Sales tax exemption of up to 7.5% more (varies by county)
  4. Virtually maintenance-free for residential & commercial use
  5. Can power the solar pool pump with existing pool heaters and automatic pool cleaners
  6. Up to $16,000 in added home value
  7. One-day installation (after permits are secured)
  8. Power Your Solar Pool Motor for Free and Save on your electric bill
  9. If you live in the islands – like the Bahamas or the Caribbean – this is a  perfect solution for moving water, operating pools or agricultural projects.
  10. The Solar Powered Pool Pump System has a very long life span
    - 20-5 years for the solar panels
    - 8-12 years for the motor

TAO Yoga – Broward Classes

Tag: GeneralWebmaster @ 5:14 pm

TeaSetTao Yoga is a form of Chi Gung. All chi gung forms are basically energy work for developing the power to heal. The practices taught at White Crane come from a 3000 yr. old Taoist system and are simple to learn yet sophisticated in their application.

How does TAO Yoga differ from Hatha Yoga?
Hatha Yoga uses postures or asanas and breath control (pranayama) to energize subtle channels (nadis). Tao yoga uses gentle movements and breath to move and balance chi. In Hatha yoga you stretch in order to relax, whereas in TAO yoga, you relax in order to stretch. You find the point that is around 70% of your physical extension or range of motion, then relax the body, mind and spirit.

TAO Yoga chi gung can improve hatha or any yoga practice because the internal training tunes the body to feel how the different poses are affecting the deep physical and emotional layers. Chi Gung’s emphasis on moderation and softening give the nerves the ability to release the muscles so that the body gains the flexibility needed to get into and hold the yoga postures. Awareness of chi movement or prana energy is also increased to prevent overstretching which can lead to injuries.

The goal of is to progressively incorporate all the principles of internal Chi Gung (nei gung) within each posture. This includes releasing blocked energy at points within the channels, pulsing the fluids in your joints, internal organs and spinal vertebrae; and manipulating the energy within your etheric field or aura. As always, the emphasis in Taoist practice is towards the spiritual.

This series of classes will be taught in two levels for beginners and those with some experience in TAO yoga. The class will also explore healing with sound, chanting, singing bowls and tuning forks.

FP&L Energy-saving tips

Tag: EnvironmentWebmaster @ 8:41 am

ThermostatAdjust your air conditioner for big savings

It’s no surprise that in most Florida homes air conditioning accounts for 40-50 percent of the annual electric bill. So start here to start saving money. Keep your thermostat at 78 with the fan on “auto” when you’re home and turn it to 82 when you’re away. It costs a lot less to bring the temperature down to 78 than it does to keep it at 78 all day. See how your energy usage adds up:
