Captain Dana Banks is the owner and operator of Key Largo Charter Boat – the War Bird. Capt. Banks grew up fishing the Florida Keys, so he knows where to fish and when to fish.

The War Bird is a 38′ Topaz fishing boat with a Flying Bridge that was designed with a comfortable cabin including  an A/C, full couch, music, dinette,  galley and full head accommodations. The War Bird is located at the Orvis Outfitters on North Key Largo.

We travel to the edges of the clear waters of the Gulf Stream to troll for some of the most impressive sportfish in the ocean. Knowing when and where to fish and using the right bait and tackle to catch them is always the challenge, but if they are out there – you will soon have a fish on line.

Finding the better parts of the reef to fish usually pays off with a great catch. We hunt for fish like large groupers, mutton snapper, yellowtail, barracuda, and other species that enjoy coral reefs as home. These fish seek the shelter of the coral reefs and sunken vessels as their underwater homes. These same underwater havens offer loads bait fish, that also attract many sportfish of all sizes.
